Week 5: Internally Complete

We had a recording session this week!

Aside from going really well considering only one of us knows what he's doing, it was also so much fun. It was awesome getting to hear the script we had spent so long working on being said out loud. That being said we definitely changed some things on the spot as we realized what worked and what didn't in terms of the two having a conversation. Jon and Darnesh did great jobs as first time voice actors, a highlight being Darnesh saying the line "you stop that" which had us all laughing for fifteen minutes.

On the art front, Claire added in all of our compiled art assets and the levels finally started looking like real levels! We have three themes: industrial, grass and ice, each of which correspond to a different one of the mechanics. There's still a lot to be done to make the levels "pretty" aside from just "looking more like levels" but that is a job for this coming week.

Justin made sure that the rest of the levels were perfectly playable, and Nick did an awesome job walking us all through how to use the sound lab, and got all of our sound files to Justin in one piece.

During this week's in-class critique we discussed maybe re-recording our lines next week because as we have them right now they sound a little bit like the two of them were in different rooms. So for next week the goal is to re-record our lines if we have time, make the levels pretty, and create the 'crash' at the end of the game.
